Terms & Conditions

Please read the following carefully before agreeing to work with Experience Teaching Abroad. By using Experience Teaching Abroad’s services, you agree to the statements set out below and agree to be bound by, and to comply with, the terms of this Agreement. 

 

You authorize Experience Teaching Abroad to collect personal information, such as name, username, email address, address, work history, academic history and other non-financial personal information to determine your eligibility to teach English abroad (the "Activity"). You authorize Experience Teaching Abroad to use this information to present you to any potential Contracting Organization to attempt to obtain employment for you. You accept and authorize Experience Teaching Abroad to use the personal information collected from you to offer customized web features, an email newsletter, and, from time to time, special placement offers by email. 

 

Your personal information shall be used solely for the purposes described above. Resumes, CV’s, cover letters, or pictures sent to Experience Teaching Abroad shall be kept private and shall only be used to present you to any potential Contracting Organization. Use of the Experience Teaching Abroad website is anonymous and is not tracked or monitored except at the aggregate level. A record of accesses, in the form of an IP log, is kept only to monitor overall server usage. These logs are strictly confidential and shall not be disclosed, sold, or accessed by unauthorized employees of Experience Teaching Abroad or its affiliates.

 

Any feedback data, such as questions, comments, suggestions, testimonials or the like (collectively "Feedback"), shall be deemed to be non-confidential. Experience Teaching Abroad shall have no obligation of any kind with respect to such Feedback and shall be free to reproduce, use, disclose, exhibit, display, transform, create derivative works from and distribute the Feedback to others without limitation. Further, Experience Teaching Abroad shall be free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques contained in such Feedback for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to developing, manufacturing, and marketing products incorporating such Feedback.

 

When you receive an offer to participate in the Activity and you accept that offer, you are responsible and liable for obtaining a passport, immigration visa(s) and other personal documentation appropriate for participating in the Activity, as well as arranging or coordinating transportation and accommodations to your satisfaction, and paying all costs and expenses related to your participation in the Activity, unless otherwise stated.

 

While Experience Teaching Abroad shall endeavour to provide a reasonable amount of support and assistance to you if you are employed as a result of Experience Teaching Abroad’s placement and recruiting services, any Teaching Contract shall be solely between you and the Contracting Organization. Experience Teaching Abroad is not responsible or liable for breach of a Teaching Contract by either party, nor for any situation, including school closure or bankruptcy of the Contracting Organization, that results in a Teaching Contract not being fulfilled. If you are terminated for any reason by a Contracting Organization, it is not Experience Teaching Abroad’s responsibility to rectify the situation or to find you alternative or interim employment.

 

Experience Teaching Abroad is not and shall not be responsible or liable for your transportation, accommodations or other services or products to be provided by the Contracting Organization or any other third party in connection with the Activity, and Experience Teaching Abroad is not and shall not be liable for any other acts or omissions of such third parties.

 

You fully assume all risks to person and property in connection with your participation in the Activity, including, but not limited to, travel delays, property damage and loss, bodily injury, sickness, disease and death. You are in sufficient physical and mental health to participate in the Activity, and do not have any physical or mental conditions which could affect your ability to participate in the Activity. You have or shall have medical insurance coverage appropriate for your participation in the Activity. Experience Teaching Abroad shall not provide any insurance for you in connection with your participation in the Activity. 

 

Once the deposit is paid, Experience Teaching Abroad Ltd has no obligation to refund your booking deposit, only within 7 working days according to distance selling regulations. Any war, famine, natural disaster, protest, political instability or any other issue in the country in question which may or may not change your decision to take your teaching placement, will not constitute a refund according to Experience Teaching Abroad’s policies. Any sickness on your part meaning you are unable to take up your teaching placement, will be at the sole discretion of Experience Teaching Abroad as to whether you receive a refund or are able to defer to another date of placement. Usually a doctor’s note will need to be provided and even so, Experience Teaching Abroad can still reject the request for a refund.

 

You fully and forever INDEMNIFY, RELEASE, WAIVE AND DISCHARGE, and COVENANT NOT TO SUE, Experience Teaching Abroad, its directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, sponsors, successors and assigns, from and for any and all demands, claims, actions, suits, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including, but not limited to, court costs and attorneys’ fees), from any cause whatsoever (including, but not limited to, travel delays, property damage and loss, bodily injuries, sickness, disease and death), whether directly or indirectly arising in connection with your participation in the Experience Teaching Abroad recruiting and placement process and the Activity, whether or not foreseeable or contributed to by the negligent acts or omissions of Experience Teaching Abroad or others.

 

Experience Teaching Abroad Ltd has the right to cancel enrolment of any student who is disruptive or does not attend classes for unexplained reasons.

 

All trainees are liable to the disciplinary regulations throughout the course. The course manager’s decision is final. 

 

No Visa is guaranteed, or secured by enrolment in an Experience Teaching Abroad’s TEFL program’s. The visa and work permit is the responsibility of the employee and employer and not the responsibility of Experience Teaching Abroad, although reasonable advice may be given on the topic.

 

The fee of the program is based on your satisfactory completion of all course assessments, including practical teaching elements, and theory over the span of the TEFL course. If for any reason you do not complete these satisfactorily within the specified period allocated, due to sickness or otherwise, it is your responsibility to finish all homework set in order for successful completion of the TEFL training. 

 

Trainees shall maintain a smart/casual and therefore appropriate dress code policy while attending the course. Trainees agree to maintain a professional attitude. In attending our courses, trainees consent to allow their end-of-course feedback, electronic images, videos and story to be used in future promotional material on Experience Teaching Abroad and associated websites. Experience Teaching Abroad reserves the right to change or alter the syllabus/ curriculum/ of the TEFL program as deemed necessary at any time and also change/ alter the schedule/ timetable. Experience Teaching Abroad reserves the right to change the locations, curriculum, teachers/ instructors at any time but will provide as much notice as possible.

 

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement, and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings and negotiations, regarding this subject matter. This Agreement may not be amended by course of conduct or otherwise, and may not be assigned in whole or in part, except in writing duly executed by Experience Teaching Abroad and you. This Agreement shall be interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to any conflicts or choice of law principles, and shall be as broad and inclusive as permitted by such laws. You irrevocably submit and attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom and the courts of appeal there from in respect of all matters arising out of or in connection with the your dealings with Experience Teaching Abroad. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable by a court, such unenforceability shall not affect any other provision, and this Agreement shall be construed as if such provision, to the extent of such unenforceability, had not been incorporated herein.
